I wait patiently for her arrival......sensing then the vibrations of her heels as she traverses the wood lot now swept clean. I have waited the season through: the one time when she allows me to lay fallow, though she knows well that I do not sleep even covered as I often am with the various blankets of snow and ice or quilted down / sewn leaf and twig.

I wait patiently for her to plunge her hands in through my permeable surface - her viable electricity charging through my loam. Every moment had waiting now forgotten, for though my time is of star time, it can just as well leech away. And o'er this echo of eons I had no connection save roots and rocks and given what comes as passing, even they could filter away from memories topology.

But this one was different. She coaxes me into me being my very best and has brought me a richness I can barely contain, so that I spill out into the beyond of me. She has cultured me and cultivated me. Her's was not the wish to tame me. And I love her for what she brings to me and I love her enough to take from her. And I love her for what I may offer her and she loves me enough to take from me.

So she casts seeds and buries cuttings. Furrows in tubers of the moon. And I bring her wild things; creasy, nettle, lions, fiddlers. And bloodroot for the echo of the beauty she herself tarries by.

THERE MAY BE NO GREATER SHOW OF COURAGE THAN TO BEGIN AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT IS THE EXAMPLE SET BY THE VERY WORLD THAT CHURNS AND VIBRATES AND RISES UP INTO THE LIGHT AND NESTLES DOWN INTO THE DARKNESS. IT IS IN THE OPPORTUNITIES OF YOUR SMILE. MY LAUGHTER. THE TRAGEDIES OF UNFATHOMABLE LOSS. THE SILHOUETTES OF THE NEIGHBORS PINES ACROSS THE WAY.

COURAGE AND GENESIS.

Plants and non-human animals do not have consciousness so does it really take courage when they die and reborn? We may think that we are more evolved because of this 'gift' of ego/self-consciousness but it may be anything but because this construct can bind us from truly letting ourselves experience the death and life opportunities that are offered to us therefore presenting a "stumbling block before the blind".
