"Call and Response"

24 The Lord is my shepherd;
WE ALL NEED GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT, THO
I shall not want.
ABUNDANCE IS NOT ALWAYS RECOGNIZABLE:
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
YET, SANCTUARY IS ALWAYS OFFERED.
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
SACRED SPACE IS MADE AVAILABLE,
3 He restoreth my soul:
AND IN CONTEMPLATIVE DIALOGUE: PERHAPS SOLACE.
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
WE DARE BEYOND THE CONFINES OF HABIT,
for his name's sake.
CONSIDERING OUR LOVED ONES AS UNIQUE.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death,
AS WE GRAPPLE WITH THE UNIMAGINABLE,
I will fear no evil:
LET US EMBRACE ALSO SAFETY.

for thou art with me;
IN DESPAIR; STILL, I AM NOT ALONE.
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
ASSISTANCE IS IN PLACE TO HELP NAVIGATE
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
THROUGH THE COMPLEX LANDSCAPE OF EMOTIONS.
thou anointest my head with oil;
MY THOUGHTS MAY FIND CLARITY,
my cup runneth over.
EVEN AS I FEEL OVERWHELMED.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the
days of my life:
WE ARE ALL PILGRIMS ON A SIGNIFICANT JOURNEY:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever.
IN SPIRIT, WE ARE NEVER HOMELESS.

This interpretation of Psalm 23 is unique, thought-provoking, and beautiful. I will return to it many times. Thanks, Tom
